A small machine with multiple colored lights appeared and approach in the sky from a distance. Once it was overhead of us we were trying to make out what it was but couldn't because it was dark and the lights that were coming from it made it difficult to see. It reminded us of a small remote control helicopter. But it came from far in front of us and left the opposite direction disappearing from sight into the sky. It would hover in One spot then move back and forth. We could hear a small motor running. Very creepy.
