My husband and I were sitting on the balcony of our condo on orange beach in Alabama. It was approx 9pm. We noticed in the south west sky a large orange orb like light appear over the water. It was very large and very high. The light multiplied into 2 or 3 more lights- I'm not sure because at this time another light appeared to the left of this one and multiplied into 5 or 6 evenly spaced lights in a straight line and unmoving. It was so quick and shocking to see. Then they disappeared. They could have been 10 miles out over the gulf- but they were mixed in with the clouds which were spotty. They made no sound at all. They seemed like flares or Chinese lanterns in appearance but did not act like either one. The one that lit up in a straight line seemed to all be connected. We have observed Chinese lanterns over our house before and these were different. These would have had to be released from a boat far out in the Gulf.
