I was in my driveway way last night taking to my son. He and I had been pointing out various starts. While looking at the various stars I noticed what appeared to be a shooting star. however: the shooting star stopped and hovered. I observed the star like object then move in a northern direction then stop and hover. It then moved higher into the air and hovered again. It then moved in a southeast diagonal pattern almost back to the point that I had original saw the object. When I first saw this I thought it might be a small person plane but have never seen a plane move the way this did. My house gets plenty of fly overs by small planes and also commercial planes. My son lives in Rome and he also witnessed this via my pointing out where to look in the sky for the object. He told me at first he thought it was a star until it moved. I am truly not sure what we saw. I have been around a lot of airplanes and helicopters and have never seen anything that can move the way this object was moving. I did not get pictures or video as I was unprepared to see what ever it was that I saw.
