I was at a friends house on Lake Lanier on July 4th 2014 watching a firework show across the Lake from the shoreline of my friends house. 30 to 45 minutes after the show ended my friends and I noticed a Bright Red Ball or at first what we thought might be Mars in the NE Sky above the treeline, but we agreed it was to large or dominant in the sky and appeared to be only a few miles away. We continued to look at it and see it clearly due to the fact that the skies were perfectly clear that night. The Bright Red Ball was completely stationary for 20 to 25 minutes over the treeline when suddenly it ascended at a high rate of speed very high in the sky toward our direction and stopped and started hovering. There was no sound made from this object and by now the Lake was very quite and peaceful! WE continued to watch it hover way above us, then suddenly it disappeared,I mean completely Vanished before our eyes. We were all astonished! This was my 1st UFO sighting and it was for my friends as well. I am a firm believer in UFO'S and I know what we saw July 4th was not of this world.
