Mount Washington Observatory, Hope to see some nice pics tomorrow of Tuckermans Ravine filling in! On another note, did anyone observe some unusual lights in the sky during the twilight hours on this past Friday, October 17, 2014? We were heading ESE on I-93S, crossing Moore Reservoir. My fiancé and I first noticed a light, somewhat orange/white, in the NNE sky (left side of I-93), and quietly passed it off as as a jet approaching an airport maybe, or a planet making it's first appearance in the fast approaching night sky. Seconds later, the light disappeared and reappeared, although this time in the ESE sky (right side of I-93), as if it were directly above Crawford Notch or Mount Bond in the heart of the Pemigewasset Wilderness. This time one light, which formed an almost perfect shape and brightness appeared, followed by two consecutive lights, in equidistant succession to the original light's left. At this point, two cars brake ahead of us and I recommend we pull over. The car behind us follows suit. Within moments, the three lights disappear. Maybe three seconds later one light appears in a nearby location, immediately followed by three lights, although this time directly underneath the first. Within moments all four disappeared. We continued on, a bit confused and honestly, did not know what to think. Please keep in mind we are not looney. After a brief stop at Subway in Littleton, we were heading up a hill in outside of Twin Mountain and another singular light appeared to our ESE. It nearly immediately disappeared after about two seconds. Meanwhile, my meatball sub is falling apart on my lap. After an entire Saturday night indulging in great Moat Mountain brews and salmon burgers we thought we should contact you. Do you have video record from the observatory, still shots, reports, anything? The time from witnessing the first light to the last was approximately between 6:30-7:00pm. Thank you so much for your help and hard work up there! Looking forward to the winter up there! Sincerely, Confused Vermonter
