Tonight is a clear, almost windless night in Palm Beach Gardens...My wife was sitting on the porch and asked me to come out and see something...she pointed to the Northwest and asked me "What is that?"...She was pointing at a green and red pulsing uuuhhhh something just hovering...At first I thought it was a Helicopter at about 2000 feet..But then it started moving almost in a square pattern as if it was looking for something......for awhile it was directly North of us before it went back to it's original position..I realized it wasn't a helicopter because it was moving too fast and stopping on a dime without slowing down...AND it was making 90 degree angle turns...at one point it started descending...at first I thought it was moving away but it wasn't because it shot back up to it's original position...I'd say it got down to about 500 feet...but please understand I'm guessing altitudes...what I can tell you is we live under the landing pattern to Palm Beach international Airport and I know when we see planes going overhead around here they're at 4000 feet and this thing seemed lower...This went on for about 10 minutes..at least it was 10 minutes from the time my wife first caught sight of it...No idea how long it was there before she saw it...Eventually it started moving to the west...and now it was darting pretty fast and doing those 90 degree turns...repeating what seemed to be it's "search" pattern...When it was directly west of us it began a slow descent and eventually disappeared from our view behind a tree...What got me was how fast it moved from one point in the sky to the other...no sense of acceletation...or of slowing down...just darted and stopped...It wasn't a Helicopter..It wasn't a plane...I've never seen a drone and have no idea if they move like that...My wife and I both know what we saw...We're curious if anyone else from around here saw it...This is something my wife nor I have ever seen before...What was it?By the way I knew it was 10:15 PM when I went out to the porch because I was watching Bill Maher and he's just introduced his panel...and I was a bit annoyed with my wife at first because I wanted to watch that program....
