Traveling on I-20 from Powder Springs Georgia, headed towards New Orleans. Between Lincoln and Pell City Alabama, a bright flash of silvery-white light appeared to the south west in the distance (about 15 miles away) close to the ground in the horizon. Immediately after noticing the bright white light towards the ground, the entire night sky illuminated a bright fluorescent blue for approximately 3 to 4 seconds. The light seems to have been projected from the ground up. It was so bright that the night sky appeared as day. After about 4 seconds, the light pulsed and went away, returning the sky back dark. No sound was heard during the time of noticing the event. Right before noticing the event, I was playing music through my car radio. My cell phone signal was loss resulting in the music cutting out, then a few seconds later I observed the event. I did not notice any thing falling from the sky or a trail or anything. The only colors witnessed was a bright white/silver flash of light, followed by the entire sky turning a fluorescent blue.
