1. My partner and I were researching online, we were facing an east side window overlooking the Chicago loop skyline.2. I glanced up from the computer screen and noticed the brightest light in the skyline. I have lived in the same condo for 10+ years and have never seen this light before. It was a bright white light and appeared to be shining directly into the condo. I immediately asked my partner if he saw the light. 3. I thought there must be a repair crew atop the building 1 block south of the Huron Consulting Group building with a strange bright light directed in our direction.4. The object just hovered at the top of the building for roughly 5 seconds, it was dark outside and we could only tell that it was at the height of the top of the building, but then it began to descend in front of the building. The top two floors of the building are windowless mechanical floors that are washed in white light, the ball of light descended to the top floor of windowed office space and then for a split second there was a 1/10th the white light's size ball of red light and then it disappeared...it did not appear to move away; it just disappeared. 6. I can see 7 floors of the building below where it disappeared; it did not descend below another building; it just disappeared. We turned off the condo's interior lights and continued watching the area for 15 mins + with binoculars and did not see anything; There were no people atop the building and no visible activity outside the building. A helicopter hovered to the south and eventually circled around the loop with bright ( much less bright ) lights shining down. Also two planes flew in he distance, far south east.
