I walked out onto my deck to smoke at about 7:10pm. After lighting up I inhaled and looked up to the night sky to observe the stars like I always do. That's when my peripheral vision picked up something out of the ordinary. I turned my head to the south and saw a triangle of pulsating green lights hovering above the ridgeline. I remember thinking "that's not normal" so I just sat there watching them for a minute. That's when they moved. The three lights jumped faster than I've ever seen a plane move, about a 1/4 of the way across the sky, and then just as quickly stopped. Before I could think, they jumped back to the general area of the sky where they were when I first noticed them. They hovered there at at a lower altitude and a bright white light (kind of like a spotlight) turned on in the middle of the three lights. Once this happened I could make out the shape of a greyish/black triangle in which all of the lights were situated. At this point I decided I better go grab my phone to get a video but as I flicked my cigarette the craft streaked away at max speed to the south east, disappearing up into the stars. The whole incident couldn't have lasted more than three minutes. It kind of freaked me out but was tremendously exciting at the same time. I saw a UFO when I was a kid once but nobody believed me. Up until recently I'd begun to think I'd just imagined it.
