Approx. 8:45 pm central time, Tuesday, March 24, 2015. Elkhorn, Wisconsin. I stepped out on my west facing, second floor deck for a smoke. I immediately noticed a glowing orange oval-ish, upside-down tear drop shaped object. It looked like fire contained in a some sort of membrane. It seemed to be slowly free floating from north to south at a downward angle and losing altitude. As I watched the shape seemed to change to a more circular, orb shape and gradually started to appear smaller. The glowing color started to appear more light orange to yellow around the outside edges while staying brighter, darker shade of glowing orange at the center.At this point it had drifted to a part of the sky where my view was obstructed by bare, leafless tree branches in my backyard. I had to keep shifting my position to keep an eye on it. It seemed to be either stopped, hovering and fading out, or had changed direction to straight west and faded out because it was traveling away from me at a high rate of speed. It faded to a pin prick of orange-yellow light until my eyes could no longer perceive it.The sky was heavily overcast with thick, dark cloud cover and very slightly sprinkling rain. I'm sure this object had to be below the cloud cover.I'm interested to know if anyone else in the area saw this.
