Driving eastbound on I-90 Mass Pike in Hampden County, approx.15 mins west of I-91.Time was approx. 7:40pm. It was not yet full dark. No stars were visible yet.The trees along the hwy were dark, almost black shadows, as was the horizon in the east since traffic was low, very few vehicle lights.The star-like orb appeared suddenly, as if emerging from under a cloud, a little ways above the tree line in the horizon facing east. I was just driving, watching the road in front of me.It was a very, very bright orange-red. It was at least twice the size of a large star, so I knew it wasn't a star.It descended extremely fast, not like a falling item. It came almost straight down, just slightly off 90 degrees, for maybe 3 seconds, then disappeared. When it disappeared I thought at that moment that it was due to the trees in the horizon. There was no trail behind it, no noise. There was no explosion or clue of any kind that it landed. As I continued driving I kept looking for it or for some evidence that something had crashed, but saw nothing.Since I was on the hwy, I couldn't even guess how far away it was from me.It could have been many miles away.I went online for a few days after looking for other witnesses.I thought for sure it had to have been seen by others but I found no reports, though I did not look beyond page one on my search engine.At the time, I "knew" it was a UFO.I have no photos naturally, it happened too fast for any kind of action/reaction.
