Last night, at 9:25pm, my wife and I were just getting back from running in a mud run. She had just went inside and a group of 4 lights happened to catch my eye. Which I thought was a little odd at first because they were flying in an approximate diamond formation. But then even more odd was they were closely followed by another group of 3 lights. I then called my wife back out to check them out. By the time she came back out the first two groups had moved out of sight. The first groups were followed by more lights (all were orange/red in color) but now they were flying in pairs. This continued for 7-8 min for a total of about 15-20 objects. I tried to use video on my phone but it doesn't film well at night. I was able to view through some binoculars and the lights weren't flashing as they do on a plane. An obvious plane was in the sky at the same time and flying in the direction of the lights so we had something to compare to. The planes lights were flashing red/white and was flying west to east. The flight of strange lights were flying SE to north about 20-30 degrees above the horizon. We lost sight of them as they flew into cloud cover to the north. We found the whole thing to be odd and hopefully easily explained
