At approximately 8:23 mountain time as I was getting my kids out of the truck I glanced up to the east and saw a strange bright blue light. It caught my eye instantly because of the unusual color and shape. It was disc/oval-like. It angled toward the ground just above tree-line traveling in a straight line as if to land, though I could not see it for very long due to trees and homes up the street. It was not particularly fast, and I remembered thinking it was a strange pace for a plane to be landing at. I do have to say that it did look as though it was going to land on or near the runway, perhaps in the neighboring fields, but where I can usually see the runway through the trees at multiple points before reaching the airport--I could not see the light continue to the airport even though I was carefully watching. I live very near the airport so I am accustomed to various types of aircraft taking off and landing. Flights have become less common lately because the airport is changing hands and has been shut down for the most part. That is part of the reason I noticed the light. This orb of light appeared to be very different from what I've been used to. Most notably, besides the unique shape and color, it made no sound. I could not see any definition indicating the structure of a plane or any other lights on the orb of light to indicate a craft I could recognize. I watched for it to continue down is trajectory or to catch any sight of it again, but my babies were crying and I needed to tend to them. It certainly was an interesting experience.
