At approximately 9:05 pm, I turned north onto 36th St from Spring Ave, and I noticed a bright light that seemed out of place. It was a very pale yellow/orange color and it did not move or flicker.
I assumed it was a star, until it went from dead still to streaking all the way across the horizon to the west in less than a second.
My car window was down and I didn't have the radio on, but I heard no sound. It would have had to break the sound barrier going that fast, and I've heard planes do that more than once. I know what that sounds like. But this had no sound at all.
I've lived on or next to Air Force Bases for 30 years, and I know what our aircraft look and sound like. I know what satellites look like in the sky. I've seen meteors streaking across the sky, and this was none of those things.
