It was the night of the peak of the August meteor shower. I was looking for meteors. As there were no meteors yet (it was too early for meteors, about 9.30) I watched a plane flying from N to S. Then I noticed a big, green ball of light in the W. I thought it was a meteor at first. It wasn't. The light was unblinking and travelling straight from W to E, not falling. I watched as it moved, covering twice as much sky as the plane did in half the time. It never made a noise. By the time the plane and the object nearly met, I was extremely scared, expecting a collision. At the last moment, right before they intersected, the green ball of light stopped and shot straight UP. It disappeared and the plane went on its way.I've thought about it for the last few months. I'm a pretty skeptical person. I thought of 20 different ways to debunk it, but they never account for what happened. Finally, I decided to report it.
