This is the second time I've seen this ball of light. The first time was several months back. I've worked on flight lines and lived near air bases and I'm familiar with many (most perhaps) of flying vehicles. I've also spent a considerable amount of time watching satellites traverse the night sky. The first time I saw it (this ball of light), it was a really clear night and the object was very bright, it moved steady across the sky in a straight line SW to NE... I highly doubt it was a satellite due to the size. I'd say it was big as a Bayer Aspirin on the tip of my thumb with my hand extended straight out in front of me. However, I didn't report it because "it could have been". I am reporting this second event because there were clouds in the sky, and this object was traveling below them. Exact same description - solid ball of white light, no FAA lights, no head lights, no sign of exhaust, and no (additional) sound. There were several other aircraft about the sky before, during, and after this incident. There was at least one fixed wing, propeller craft that was present in the W/NW sky - it was traveling in circles - I assume a pilot practicing or just logging hours. Several higher flying aircraft were seen and heard as well. I could hear the propeller driven craft and two or three jet craft that passed over before AND after we (me and my nine year old daughter) lost sight of the ball of light. I have to kick myself for not having my camera more readily available. I am going to assume that I will see this again and I plan to have my camera closer by.
