On Wednesday, February 10th at 0315-0325 I witnessed a star-like objet travelling slowly across the northern sky. Other stars were visible in the sky at the time, and the weather was clear as far as I could tell. There had been a short bout of fog early in the morning the previous day. I was walking into work when I observed a halo-like phenomena that moved slowly to the west/southwest with the star like object centered in the middle of the halo. I observed the object for several minutes as it continued to travel in a westward direction. As the object moved further away, the halo faded away and a cone shaped light was being produced from the bottom of the star like object. The cone of light was finite and a oval shape could be seen at the end of the light cone. The object made no sound, and there were no FAA marker lights on the object. I lost sight of the object behind a building and when I attempted to reacquire the object after moving past the building, it could no longer be observed in the sky. The sighting took place approx. 10 miles east of Sand Mountain recreation area in the sky above Dixie Valley.
