To Whom It May Concern, I was outdoors at 10:20PM EST / Essex County, Massachusetts. An unidentified flying object appeared from the SE traveling NNE at tremendous speed. Object closely resembled transit of ISS/Satellite, however it was rapidly ascending during its flyby until almost unobservable. There were no aircraft, satellites or ISS in the vicinity during it's passage. The object left no contrail and was devoid of any audible frequency. Temperature was 73 degrees F. Humidity of 46%, & wind was W @ 7 mph. Visibility listed at 9.0 mi. No cloud cover. I have a background in aeronautical engineering so please bear with me. Human made satellites typically orbit +/- 400 miles in elevation. The speed of these objects can vary due to a number of reasons based on gravity, orbital radius, etc. Many satellites travel exceeding 16,000 mph. The ISS travels slightly faster, about 17,000 mph. This object was exceeding that speed and increased in altitude beyond the thermosphere @ 419 mi. I cannot estimate the speed of the craft as there are too many unknown variables to be taken into account. The object's trajectory and inertial path appeared uninterrupted, ascending in a straightforward motion. The light source was constant yet dimmed as it elevated to a higher position. The time elapsed from my vantage point was between 5-6 seconds (which means nothing in relative terms because the angular diameter and relative scale were also incalculable based on other unknowns). For the record of this report, I would like to express my certainty regarding the validity of this sighting based on my personal experience/expertise in this field. Also, I have never filed a report before, even though this is far from the most unusual thing I have ever observed. Unfortunately, the two perticular incidents I am referring to aside from this one, are far more complex and compelling. It would require substantial dialogue in order to accurately illustrate and covey the intricacies of those sightings. I hope there are others out there who had an opportunity to observe this anomaly and perhaps we can accurately determine its destination/point of origin/and or other possibilities that I cannot think of.
