On Friday the 10th June 2016, stood in my back garden having a cigarette before going to bed, the sky was really over cast and no sky/stars observable, just the clouds, very dark. to the west in the direction of Lichfield City I could see a really bright white star shining straight through the clouds, I instantly thought "bloody hell that's bright" and continued to watch, after about 6-7seconds it then changed colour and size, it went from bright white to a deep flame coloured orange and went to a rather large ball, at first I thought a star had exploded, however this wasn't in space, it was obvious at that point that whatever this was, it was inside the clouds, it lit up the inside of the cloud and I could see all the detail of the inner cloud, however the ball didn't move, flicker, make any further alterations at all. it stayed dead still while the cloud it was in continued to move at the normal air speed, after 10seconds or so it just went out and nothing further was seen.
