Heading northbound on Main St in taxi, saw bright silvery/Chrome object in sky. Was size of approx. a small Cessna aircraft. I asked taxi to drop me off and continued to observe craft. It was spherical in shape, however; it looked like it had two head lights on it. And the craft did look like it had some type of louvers or sharper areas on it. To make sure it was not the sun reflecting off the object I moved direction to opposite side of object and that's when it's headlights moved and it shot up about 100 ft straight then dead stopped again. It hovered for another minute and then rotated and shot off going south/southeast at a fast rate of speed. I have never seen such an object before. Helium balloons do not act in this way and it was too big to be such as that.
