The time was 7:34pm est. i was in my front yard preparing for my nightly sky watch. i am an avid sky watcher and do it every night it is clear. i am very familiar with jet flight paths and satellites. i watch them every night. my attention was drawn to the south by the sound of 2 helicopters. helicopters are common here because of the proximity of sikorsky aircraft. they where different, flying without faa lights and approaching my location from the south. i then saw a white orb about the size of venus floating motionless above me. as the helicopters approached it began to move slowly to the east. the brightness would vary from very bright to dim back to bright. the helicopters continued towards the north. the object made a sharp turn to the north at this time and followed the helicopters path. after only a few seconds the object returned to its original course and slowly ascended out of sight to the east. the helicopters continued on a northward path. this was not a chinese lantern or the rocket launch. i have seen many of those and this was not the same.
