I work for a local government agency and was down at the ocean for a conference. the hotel was ocean front and i was on the 5th floor.The night was clear. i could see clearly straight out just over the ocean, directly east. a very large almost horseshoe shaped object was sitting or hovering right above the ocean surface. the object was pretty far out over the ocean, because it almost lined up with the horizon. it must have been very very large due to the size compared with the distance. it glowed and pulsated an orange /red for about 2 hours, then all of a sudden disappeared. i was watching it from my balcony for awhile then went inside to get some water. i was only inside for a few seconds and it was gone when i got back. no sound at all, however, it was so far away and with the sound of the ocean waves, i doubt i would have herd it anyway. very strange.
