At exactly 22:00, on 08/17/12 I got off work at 21:55, in the parking lot, I stood still for exactly 10 minutes, while, 24-27 strange, orange, (the color of high-pressure sodium street lights), objects, in groups of three, flow overhead over Cleaveland Road,in South Bend, Indiana 46530. We have the South Bend Regional Airport, and they certainly did not go there! One was out in front, followed by two. The lead one's light grew dimmer and smaller and then just disappeared. The following two acted the same. Then another group of 3 started, and ended in the same fashion! This went on for exactly 10 minutes, with about 9 groups passing overhead. Maybe someone can figure out their speed divided by 10 minutes. From first sight to disappearing would take approx. 35-45 seconds. At one time, as the lead one was getting smaller and dimmer, I saw a red strobe, then it disappeared.I do not know who to contact. I did report to the South Bend Police Dept. and they said I was the first. I then called Grissom Air Force Base, Customner Service, on the following Saturday afternoon, about 2:30 p.m. and I spoke with a young man, He works at Menards, which is just down the street from where I saw them, and got off work at 22:00, and was outside at that time going to his car,he said that he did not see them. While I was observing them, another man pulled into the parking lot, got out of his car, and observed them for a short time, and drove off without conversing. So, about 25-27 orange color lights flew overhead 08/17/2012 from 22:00-22:10 exactly, in South Bend, Indiana. I just wish I could find someone else who saw them!! I will call the airport on Monday 08/20/12.I also left a weekend message/question with the National Weather Service.
