I went outside, it was about 10 degrees out. What I saw , brilliant white flashing low in the southern sky almost looked like heat lightning, but because it was SO COLD I knew it couldn't be! For about 15 minutes I watched random flashes of brilliant white light in the due south. The next morning, i mentioned this to one of my students and he said theat he and ceveral firneds saw the same thing at the same time but they were in Ellsworth and their flashing lights were due north
