While going on a mutual aid fire run to the town of Hamilton KS I observed from a distance of perhaps 6 or 7 miles what I thought to be lights from their football field. I realized that the lights were on the wrong side of the highway to be the football field and about twice as high as football field lights. As I approached in the last of our 4 fire trucks to respond, I reasoned that perhaps it was the Hamilton water tower. I would have left it at that, since we were mainly focusing on getting to the fire, but as we passed by next to this object, it rotated so that its lights faced away from us, and completely vanished. Due to the nature of our trip, we could not stop and investigate further. I have seen an object similar to this 3 other times. We were quite close to it, maybe 150 yards or less west of it, and it was not over 200 to 250 feet in the air. I would guess it was about 150 to 200 feet long, and maybe 60 to 70 feet tall, but I can't be sure. It had 4 or 5 VERY bright white lights on it. I was traveling with a good friend of mine who at the time was the Mayor of Madison, and I have served on the School Board and Township Board( the point being we are credible people). Several others saw this object, but no one wanted to talk about it. I am reporting it now after watching some UFO programs on the History Channel and after seeing a similar object about 3 months ago. I expect the exact times and dates could be found by checking the GW county sheriffs dispatch logs as to when we were dispatched. I do know that I had been watching a debate between Bush and Gore when the call came in. Brian Hind.
