I was standing in my yard at 5am observing meteors. i was facing south. it was very quiet. i had been out there about 5 minutes when i heard what i thought was one jet aircraft and looked to the source when i saw 4 venus-sized objects traveling in a "wide-v" formation. these appeared to be separate objects, flying together. if i raised my arms straight overhead they would be between my hands (approx 24 inches.) the object to the far left was twice the size of the other three. these aircraft were all traveling at the same speed, and very fast. it was not possible to distinguish their altitude but there were no marker lights visible. i assume i saw the glow of the jet engines. i watched as they traveled nearly directly overhead. as i watched in awe of the speed i saw a fifth object appear near the other four. it was motionless as it "faded" into view quickly, then began to move, flanking the jets. i watched until they all moved away past the treeline. the time elapsed from the direct east initial sighting until they disappeared to the west was under 10 seconds. the object that came into view had a distinct orange glow and was slightly larger while the jets were about the same color and size of venus. the size and color stayed the same as they sped across my field of view.
