We were camping and laying out on the road watching stars peak out through the light cloud cover. over the eastern horizon we noticed way we thought was mars, a super bright red dot breaking through the clouds, then noticed it getting higher and higher. we then assumed it was a chinese lantern but it kept getting bigger and we now realised it was getting closer. as we were waiting for it to burn out it came right above us, we sat there speechless as tis flew over us under the cloud cover. it almost looked like the ship from the show futurama but glowing yellowish gold with flashing lights sporadically on the outside. there was no noise we were in the middle of nowhere and it became dead silent all around us, crickets,frogs, everything just stopped and after it passed you could just barely make out a resonating woomp woomp type sound but very muffled, almost like a subsonic wavelength. i've been in this exact spot hundreds of times for over 30 years now and have never seen anything even close to this.
