I was sleeping. i was awakened by a light sound that resembled what i would describe as a wind chime with pieces of glass tinkling against each other. i opened my eyes and saw that it was 2:57 am. i then looked up at the window and saw a bright round orb like object in the sky that was totally still. the window at the head of my bed gives me a good view of the sky. the window faces east. the object was the size of the nail on my little finger. it was not flickering or flashing. it was a bright cherry red. the light did not shine outside of its shape, though it was very bright. it was at about an 70-degree angle from the eastern horizon. i tried to keep my eyes on it as long as i could, but i finally blinked. it was gone after i blinked. i got up, and looked outside the window, and saw no lights that could have been reflected. there were the usual lights from the train yard and the industrial area nearby, but they are all white and are always there. i am very used to them. inside, i have a router with green flashing lights and a small orange light from the phone charger on my desk that could not have been reflecting on the window at all. they are always on. the window was open about 5 inches and there was no sound coming from the object.. there is nothing in this house that could have caused the "tinkling" sound that originally woke me up. the weather was the usual wet, rainy and cloudy. this object was below the clouds and was very clear. after seeing it, i couldn't sleep. kept trying to figure out a logical explanation, but could not.
