I know this sounds weird but i walked out to my car to retrieve something tonight. it was an usually clear minnesota night and i love looking at the stars. i saw what i thought was a satellite cruising across the sky. it was a solid white object that appeared like a star (same size as stars appear but this was moving in straight line.) there was a plane in western sky that was very high. the plane was clearly different; it flashed and had a contrail. the object that i saw was extremely higher in atmosphere. i have tracked and watched satellites before and i thought this is what i was watching. about a minute into the sighting i realized the object appeared to be headed right at the moon (moon was approximately 40% full??) as it got very close to the moon, i swear by everything i hold dear, it slowed down and appeared to "inch" towards the moon. my initial thought was maybe the light of the moon was playing tricks on me, however the light never reappeared on other side of moon. based on the speed it was going, i expected to see it pass by, or behind the moon, within a second or two, it never came out. whatever i saw, was absolutely not a plane nor a satellite.
