At about 8:55 pm a very bright white light caught my attention between the mini blind slats. It was in the eastern sky about 30 degrees above the horizon. I looked at for about ten seconds and noticed it was not moving at all. I am an amateur astronomer and I know what Venus looks like among other things. The shape with my eye looked as what Venus would look like but this was much brighter and bigger and closer looking. The magnitude had to be about -7. My first thought was an airplane headlight or helicopter but like I say it was way too bright and large. I see planes fly over all the time and they of course are moving and not nearly as bright. When I got up to look at it from my patio door it was gone! The fact that it just disappeared in the five seconds it took me to look out my patio door blew me away! I did not have enough time to get a picture of it. I don't know how long it was out there before I noticed it.
