My husband and I were sitting on our back patio at about 10:32 p.m. on Thursday, July 7, 2016. We were enjoying the warm evening outside and my he was looking toward the Southeast sky when he caught a very quick bright flash. About 1 second later there was the same bright flash & trail, however this object had jumped an incredible distance. He quickly pointed this out to me and I witnessing the same event with 3 more quick flashes followed by a huge jump forward. This was not a solid light, it was a bright flash, leaving a very dim trail. The flash and distance traveled were perfectly in-sink with the same trajectory. We can't say how far it traveled as we have no idea the on the objects size or altitude. If I had to guess, I'd say it was jumping thousands of miles each flash. This guess is based on my professional aerospace expertise and my husbands knowledge of watching satellites, jets and the ISS crossing the sky. There was 1 more distant flash as it traveled Northeast and went out of our line of sight. You literally had to be looking directly toward the area at the start in order to see the event. I can say for certain, this was a high altitude object traveling at an unfathomable speed.Some observations: 1)It was not a solid light2)No fuselage was ever visible3)There were no sounds or booms 4)Without seeing the 5-6 quick flashes, it wouldn't have been seen5)The flash lasted a microsecond 6)Like a metronome, the flash and the distance traveled were perfectly in-sink 7)It was on the same trajectory with no deviations8)There was no break up or change of course9)The object went across the entire plane of the sky in 6-8 seconds10)It was not traveling down or up11)We had a clear unobstructed view of the entire cloudless sky
