I was looking at the night sky and saw a star close to the southern horizon. I ignored it at first because I thought it was a star. I realized quickly that it wasn't a star because of the intensity of the light as well as the slight flashing/pulsing of the light. As I watched the light, it would get dim and then very bright. It also seemed to sort of wiggle around in the sky. It finally disappeared all the way. After that, there were several flashes that appeared to come from behind the horizon.
