We were admiring the stars because the sky was clear when we were in the backyard of friends when we noticed a moving red light. But it was different. It hovered and moved slightly right and left. Hovered and moved up and down. We watched it for about 5 minutes and it was staying in the same position but hovered and moved to the right and left. The first thought I had was I was a little afraid but thought it was amazing. But when it continued to just hover I began to wonder what it was. Our friends we staring at it as well, and we all were a little where it was going or looking at. After about 5 - 7 minutes it started to move towards the ground however, trees were in our way to witness it further. We lost it moving towards the ground in the distance.
