I had just come home from picking up my brother with my mother, we went inside and I asked my step-dad if he had a knife sharpener. He said yes and we went out to his work van. I really like astronomy and space so as I normally do when I am outside at night I looked up to the moon which was extremely bright. I immediately noticed a yellow air/jet stream near the moon, I looked up the stream and saw a very bright, hovering, yellow light. The light stayed still long enough for me to stay "what is that thing!" My step-dad grabbed the knife sharpener from his van, closed his van door, and look up to where I was looking. As soon as he saw the light it began to move extremely fast straight up. (My step-dad described it as being "like a missile") I first thought the object was a helicopter, then after seeing it go straight up I had no idea what it was. After a few seconds it abruptly changed direction and flew over us. At this point I had already taken the picture and then asked my step-dad to get my mom. He yelled to her and everyone in the house came running out. They were all amazed, but it was so cold and everyone was in their pyjamas they went back inside. I walked back to the door and watched the UFO blink a white light, then it was gone, like the lights had gone out. Also, I should mention, I live in the middle of nowhere with very little light pollution and lots of clear land. In the images below I have not edited the picture with the moon and I simply zoomed in for the up close UFO object, notice the trail and the object in the picture.
