While watching the eclipse, my son (17) and I were noticing all the small planes including the planes from the Skydiving center the next town over. We saw this red glow coming from the south heading north. It was in perfect sight what appeared to be just over the tree tops as we were facing. As we watched, we both noticed no blinking lights but what appeared to be the entire fuslage as glowing red. Anticipating the sound of props, which are typically constant over my house or the sound of a jet engine, there was silence. I had my camera shooting the eclipse and my son had binoculars, the both of us were so stunned, we didn't think to use them until it was a bit too far. I spent 10 years in the Military, 4 of them active duty Air Force. I have never seen anything like this. What prompted me to write was, there was a sighting in Lowell, Ma 20 minutes down the road from me, the same night. That one was reported as blue. We watched the one we saw, smoothly flying across the sky for at least 1-2 minutes.
