My husband and I were outside in our back yard...he was outside with a fire going and I had just joined him. Just as I sat down and looked up to the right over the trees we saw the light "go on". It was almost like something exploded or the light you see from a meteor shower when it comes really close...a burst of light or a light bulb came on.Something we've never seen before. We see planes all time. We know the difference. We know how Chinese lanterns and flares look and the difference between seeing the ISS etc. It did scare us for a minute..I yelled holy ***t did you see that?! And then it faded..he said he saw the light earlier and it made an "L" shaped pattern. And as he was telling me that it did it again. But it shifted, maybe about an inch over and just as bright. The second time my heart stopped because I knew this was a "new" event. We've seen lights before..never this "kind" I kept thinking it was because we had the fire going, so were going to try it again and see if we can get the same response. It happened (blinked) maybe 6 times total but faded after the first 2 really bright bursts. There was a large plane that flew right by it and we didn't see any swift movements by it. It was a dot in the sky and the light came on..so hard to describe it unless you were there. Scary..yes. Because it seemed so close or like it was going to get even brighter, maybe a star exploded? And exciting at the same time because it was "different". There is a mountain in that direction, seems to be where we see the most "action".(ie. Like a star that's there stationary, and then just starts moving.) Unfortunately clouds started coming in really fast after that and that was it..couldn't see any stars or anything :(
