I was sitting outside enjoying the warm weather, when I looked to the north and noticed a sphere glowing red-orange and moving to the south east at a steady speed. It was about the same speed the blue herrons fly. I'm not good at judging size or distance. It was about 50 or 60 degrees from the horizon. I'd guess about 4 feet in diameter. It made no noise. I thought at first it might be a large chinese latern, but it was not being pushed by the wind. The direction of the wind was from the due west. The clouds were also moving from the west, perhaps even a bit south of west. It continued steadily to the east-south-east until it seemed to approach near Reynolds Road (about 1/2 mile from me). Then it disappeared, reappeared briefly, then disappeared completely. I never lost sight of it, it just blinked out.My camera was in the house, so I did not get a picture.There is a radio antennae (perhaps a cell tower) just past where it seemed to be when it blinked out. I cannot see the strobe at the top of the antennae from where I was sitting, so it must have been higher than the top of the antennae.It was not a drone, nor a helicopter, nor an airplane, nor a chinese latern. I have no idea what it was.
