I am a mufon field investigator.(22921) i was driving east on a suburban road.(eagle canyon road in spanish springs nv). i saw what appeared to be venus directly in front of me at 35 degrees. it hovered for 10 seconds in "bright daylight" with no clouds in the sky. in fact there were no aircraft either. this ruled out venus. i am about 30 miles from rno airport. my immediate second thought was that it could be a chrome fuselage reflecting the sun; however, it was diamond shaped and was hovering or perhaps moving very slow. i slowed down to pull over while keeping my eyes on this very bright object in the daylight sky. then the object just disappeared. i waited for it to reappear thinking it changed course. but the sky was clear and it was nowhere to be seen. i looked at my watch and compass and it was 6:10pm and the object appeared to be at 35 degrees. (it could have been over utah) it's important to note that at the time of the sighting, the sky was clear of any visible aircraft. 10 minutes later, the sky was full of 707 jets and commuter planes. not only do i live 30 miles from rno airport, but i also live close to fallon naval air station. it is also worth mentioning that i am approximately 700 kilometers from groom lake and area 51.
