Oval shaped light.While standing on deck of beach front house with brother-in-law, saw an oval shaped object with red light come from the south going north. Noted no sound coming from object. Inquired to brother-in-law if it was some type of helicopter at which time he stated no. Called husband to deck when object was approximately 300 feet away. It was approximately 300 feet off of ocean and flew parallel to the shore for approximately 500 feet then abruptly made a right angle turn to the east and flew at rapid speed up and out of sight.
