I was not sleeping, huge white light into face from window facing the north, thought it was a flashlight but I'm on second floor of house. It was bluish, white ball, little red around it, spiraling down to the ground. As big as a large utility truck or van size. Flare followed it in sky, smoke trail. It was brighter than brightest light, reflective inside ball and shone brighter as it spiraled down. Thought we were going to war. I've seen flash bangs before, flares, no bang or sounds with this and barely any red to object . Thought maybe meteorite? The object landed. I will check area in the am, but was seen as far away as Lewiston and Augusta. FB friends have witnessed it also.
