It was about 7:30 pm jan. 2, 2016. it was dark but plenty of light from the city. i am returning from the store on my bicycle. i am moving north very slow. in the ne i see a reddish-orange sphere edges coming my way and slowly descending. its moving slow, about walking speed. if i continue on my bike it looks as though it would pass behind me. i did a slow u-turn and got into it's path. it is about 10 feet away and not much higher than my head while i stand on my peddles. this one is 3-4 feet in diameter. i am almost directly in it's path. it comes to a sudden stop. the part of it facing the ground flipped up and i saw a big eye like the "cbs" logo and again it looked like a jellyfish. sort of like a hood that extends out from the body. to put a human characteristic to it, it looked as though it was surprised when it "noticed" i was there. it stopped and jumped back a little, flipped up, "looked" at me, then shot off to the east. within 1-2 seconds it was a few miles away. it flashed off/on a few times as it went making streaks and changing colors. then it stopped and turned south, the direction of tampa bay, accelerated, flashed making streaks, and changing colors until couldn't see it anymore. i will make a seperate report for the following.. i was near my house and i hurried to tell my neighbors from the night before. i see the door is open and the lights are on. i lay my bike down in the driveway and when i look up there is a large red-orange sphere 5-10 feet above their house. this is 6-8 feet in diameter. i rush inside to get them. they come outside and the three of us look at it for a few minutes. it ascends and speeds to the south, flashes a few times as it goes, and is gone.
