We were watching the Annapolis Royal Natal Day fireworks from across the river in Granville Ferry when we observed a bright object travel from left to right through the fireworks. At first we thought it might be part of the fireworks display but when it did not explode, but remained in the sky we surmised that it must be a helicopter as one had been seen earlier in the area. It soon became clear that it was not a helicopter as it did not continue on. It remained in the vicinity of the fireworks for the duration of the display (10 to 15 minutes?). During that time it continuously flashed bright red and green lights alternately and it performed a variety of leisurely movements - drawing close to the fireworks, moving quite some distance away and then returning, sometimes dropping straight down and then travelling straight up again. When the fireworks ended it dropped straight down to what appeared to be ground level. It is very unfortunate that we did not have a phone or camera to record this event because it it easily surpasses all of the videos that I have seen on Youtube and Facebook.
