"I encountered a UFO in the summer of 1978 (June, July or August?) in Lewisville, Texas. I was 18 years old.

Early morning-dawn I went outside to get work clothes out of box in trunk of our car for my husband to get dressed for work. We had just moved to Lewisville and were living with a couple that were friends of my husband's Mom's while we got jobs and found a place to live.

I am from Birmingham, AL. Lived there just that summer. It was still somewhat dark outside. I noticed when walking out of the fenced yard to the car what looked like a bright star in the sky. As I turned to my right to open the trunk of the car to get out the boxed work clothes, I looked back at the "star", thinking, "Wow, that is a REALLY bright star!". (It seemed brighter than when I first noticed it just a few seconds before but thought nothing else about it).

Then as I was digging in the trunk to get to the box I noticed what seemed like a streak of light to my left behind me in the sky and I turned my head around and some few yards away up maybe 35-40 feet in air an aircraft?? Unidentified type of object was HOVERING perfectly still, NO NOISE, NONE. It was, long shaped, not round or circular, with lights around bottom and at least a few on top.

I was in total shock and scared. It seemed to have SHOT down from the sky and was just THERE. I was trying to comprehend what I was seeing and where/how it came from. I have no idea have many minutes I stood frozen looking up at it but then realized I needed to go get my husband and the couple as I was scared and knew what I was seeing was unbelievable/no way to describe...and was scared.

As I took a few slow steps to my left towards the gate (very slow steps) without taking my eyes off of the craft, it moved also...at the same pace I moved. I stopped. IT STOPPED. After some more minutes (no idea how long...couple minutes?) I took several more steps, faster this time. Same thing happened. It moved when I did...faster like I moved!!!

After a couple more minutes - frozen there watching it and trying to figure out what I was witnessing/happening and knowing it sounded like something from a movie or a crazy person, I realized that I had to RUN to get inside to get someone to get out there with me to see it, I started walking really fast/slow run towards the gate to my left still looking at it over my shoulder. It moved really fast like I did and I turned and stopped as it went behind a tree and couldn't see it.

At that very moment, my husband opened the front door and yelled something like "What the @%!! is taking you so long?" I babbled and pointed and started yelling for him to look and tears were pouring down... He couldn't undertand me and yelled something like "What the @%!! is wrong with you? You look like you just saw a ghost!". I was crying and ran and tried pulling on him to run down the road and explain what had happened and just keep begging him to come see before it "got away".

The other couple woke up or he work them up??? and I begged them to jump in a car to try to "Catch It" and even started out of the yard to go run down the street to see it alone and they stopped me. They tried to calm me down. I cried because I could tell they didn't understand that what I had seen was so...UNREAL.

My husband kept telling them, "SHE SAW SOMETHING! She was white as a ghost". The man convinced me that it had to be something maybe the government was testing? Said there was some kind of Air Force or some kind of military place not too far away from there (60 miles? 30 miles? 90 Miles)? I don't really believe in Aliens, etc., so I have to believe it was some type military thing being tested.

I do know that there was intelligent life form running it, as it would move when I did and stop when I did. I have to think that someone (or more than 1 person) were getting the laughs of their lives watching me frozen in shock and scared and were doing that to me on purpose. I would like to know if anyone knows of other sightings of this type shape thing and/or in the area. (Or anywhere!). Also, does anyone know of what type military or aeronautical place might have been anywhere near there that might have been testing something?"
