Bright light over head.

In late April 1974 my friend, his wife and I walked about 150 ft. off the road into the woods to build a campfire. It was dusk, but not quite dark yet. we began to gather firewood in the immediate area. We could still just barely make out each others faces. We were not more than 20 feet apart. All of a sudden there was a flash of light about as long as it takes to blink an eye. At first I paid no attention, and the it happened again. Only this time it was noticable. Nobbody said anything to each other. Then it came again only brighter. We were neer a stream in a small valley. The trees at the top of the ridges on either side of the stream were about 80 feet tall. The light was a funnel shaped beam that seemed to be coming from some sort of an aircraft. It was flying less than 100 feet above the trees at the top of the ridge line, moving perpindicular across the stream and parallel with the road. The light was the brightest white light I have ever seen. It flew directly over the top of us very slowly. Hard to say exactly how fast it was moving, but my guess is not more than 10 mph. Because the light was so bright, we could not make out the shape of a craft. There was no sound of any engine. I remember hearing what sounded like the wind passinng around an object, The light that was eminating from the craft seemed almost as though it was photographing. The funnel shaped light would flash about once per second. After it passed over us we all looked at each other in disbelief. I ran out to the road to see if I could make out any kind of shape. I could see that the light was still flashing down at the ground and I could tell that it was coming from an object. I could not define the shape exactly, but I remember at the time thinking it could have been cigar shaped. There were no lights on the aircraft itself, ony the funnel shaped light flashing downward from the bottom of the craft. I was able to watch it for about a minute before it went out of sight.
