orange and white fireballI and a friend were smoking cigarettes on his covered back porch; a yard light was lit but was behind us. A bright orange and white light appeared above the tree line due east from our position and ascended upward very slowly. At first glance it appeared to be a flare but rose upwards instead of downwards. Object seemed to be at least three or more miles away. After two minutes passed the light suddenly went away. Although there were up to three aircraft circling this area for at least two hours before, during and after the event took place. Some engine noise could be heard but we could not confirm the source. I nor my friend have never seen this type of object or light in the night sky and assume it may be an UFO.
