Was with family members have a late supper at Torre a Mare situated about 15km south from Bari the main city beside the Adriatic sea. Went out to have a cigarette and while observing the sea late at night looked up as usual to see the stars. One bright star that caught my attention was observed east far out above the sea and seemed to move slowly from the south. Moving to a spot where there was a flagpole to better orient the light, it was moving slowly and after about 2 minutes or so it dimmed to about 1/8 the brightness. Looking to see if there was any flashing red/green airplane lights nor any noise there was none observed. After about 30 secs the object now being a dull red/amber color started to move a little faster in the northern direction it shot of north at an incrediable speed leaving a red trail that disapaded quickly. I was disappointed that I was alone at the time of the sighting however was glad that I had another opportunity to witness my second concrete sighting in 10 years
