I was walking back to our bungalow on the beach in Bang Saphan, Thailand with my girlfriend, after dinner, and looked up into the sky to see if it might begin to rain. As I looked up, an orange-red orb (maybe 3X the size of a night-time star - not very large), "zig-zagged" above VERY quickly and disappeared in the clouds/horizon. This happened VERY quickly, and I believe it was no more than 2-3 seconds before the object disappeared. The flight path I observed was a quick "burst" (line) as it produced an orange trail behind it, then "stopped" for a split second, before moving in another direction maybe 45-60 degrees "off" of it's original direction, and again in that direction for a bit, and then changing directions again, to create a "zig-zag" flight pattern across the sky. I can't remember for sure (this happened so fast), but I "believe" it was BELOW the cloud cover, as I can remember viewing it's flight "trail" in entirety, even though there was some clouds in it's path. I don't know what kind of object could make a flight pattern that fast and erratic movement - I would guess it was probably 1-3 miles away, and was probably traveling 2,000+ miles per hour or more. I stood around waiting if I could see more, but after 5 minutes - my girlfriend bugged me to "move-on", and I didn't observe anything else.My girlfriend was not looking up at the sky at the time, so she said she did not see anything.
