Roswell NM2nd & Eisenhower areaI look at the stars almost every night since moving to Roswell about 5 years ago, but the stars are so much more beautiful outside of the city, in the cool weather I make a point to look. What caught my attention was that there were no clouds, but no stars in a large part of the sky. And it changed by the minute. At its largest, I would estimate the object to be 1/6th of the entire sky that I could see, from overhead to the horizon. At its smallest, it took up less than 1/10th of the sky.I had just moved into my house just outside of Roswell, NM. At about 10:30 I went outside just to sit for a few minutes before retiring. I noticed an ENORMOUS blank object (blanked out stars as it passed overhead). It almost looked like a stealth, but large - 3-4 football fields wide and longer than 3-4 football fields, 4 or 5 maybe, long. There also appeared to be a small stealth riding beside it (between it and the mountains). There was no sound. Not even on the ground - like a silent movie. There were no lights, except on the small object, which had wing lights (one on each side) and a small red light in the center. It approached the city limits from the northwest, and banked to its left, heading northnortwest over the edge of the city. As it passed over the pecan orchards, it just faded away and the stars came back. This thing moved very slowly. The whole event took about 8-10 min. The outline was really all that could be seen as it moved in front of the stars. In the front, it looked like a boomerang, more pointed in the front, which fanned out like fins in the back, but large and rounded, plump. As it banked, it appeared to have an almost rectangle back, but very rounded. Feelings and reactions: I felt stunned, almost frozen. I didn't know what to think, even though I believe in UFO's and wanted to see one, but this was really close. I thought about it for many days and finally called my husband to tell him. He told me I was crazy, so I didn't say anything else. My in-laws moved here from California. One night they asked me if I ever saw anything, when I told them, they looked at each other without saying a word. Why can't this happen with someone else? Now that I've had about 6 months to think about it - I know what I saw and although I couldn't touch it or see it, it was there. It would have been as if you took WalMart and its lot, painted it black and flew it slowly from the mountains at about 200 feet off the ground, made a left and went back.
