I went out on the back patio to call my cat and had a need to relieve my self and was looking up at the stars when I saw this star start going up and down back and forth and would shoot out to the right and then go back to where it had been It moved very fast. I called my wife out to look at it and it started doing it for her. I went into the house several times because it was cold. When I would go back out it would not be moving and would start doing its moves again until I went into the house. This object appeared to be the size of a small star but was bright. I just went back out to see if it was still there and it was and started doing the same moves after I had looked at it for 5 seconds or so. It kind of reminded me of a bat chasing bugs in and out of a light. Fast moves but I could see it all the time as it quickly moved back and forth. I though it was a star until it started moving up and down and back and forth. It sometimes would shoot of at a right angle toward the west and then go back to same spot it had started from. The only feeling I had was of surprise at seeing it and the fact that it is staying around and doing the same thing over and over like it is seeing me watch it as it stops doing it's thing until I come back out side to look again. I have gone back out side at 8:17 and it is still there and started doing the same thing. I wish someone else that believes in these things could be here to see this it
