The wife and I were sitting in the backyard from roughly 11pm to 12:30am. I happened to be looking up maybe 20-25 degrees to the W and noticed an extremely fast orb of light (unsure if solid or simply light) heading S from behind my tree. I could not get a sense of how far away it was. It was also very cloudy, so much so you could not see the stars through the clouds. I didn't say anything to the wife but then she pointed to the SE sky a couple seconds later stating she saw a "light" streak through the sky and disappear (she was roughly facing the opposite direction as me). We continued to search for the orb toward the S/SE tree lines. A few minutes later we saw it ascend from the SE tree line, then immediately descend and disappear. We could not get a sense of altitude or distance. As far as feelings, we were both very excited as we have never seen anything like that before.
